David Horrocks has released the latest edition of his Hoxs64 C-64 emulator into the wild. This projects goal is to produce a cycle-accurate Commodore 64 via emulation.. and so far it's doing a really good job of it.

Some of the highlights of this emulator are cycle based emulation of the CPU, VIC, CIA and SID. Reproducing all screen effects. Support for TAP, PRG, P00 and D64 files.. and a disassembler.

Changes in this release:
  • Enabled editing of the CPU registers and the disassembly mnemonics. The mnemonic edit box accepts either 6502 assembly or space delimited numbers.
  • Fixed pixel glitch while stepping in the debugger.
  • Added up/left soft cursor keys.
  • Tweak for demo 'Bad Copy' by Emulamer.
You can download the latest version here. Be sure to download the additional DX9 dll's listed in the files description.
